CEC Budget Put In Perspective

I found a nice comparison that puts the budget for the Cincinnati Empowerment Corp. in perspective. I stole this from a poster nicknamed "FunnelCake" on a Beacon thread:

As Monican & the Dean requested, here are the comparisons between the United Way, The Red Cross & EZ (...is that EZ as in EZmoney?)

United Way of America report
Programs: 88.13%
Fund Raising: 1.02%
Administrative: 10.83%

Not bad but of course that is the national organization.
The local United Way of Greater Cincinnati self reports (PDF) the following numbers:
Program Expenses $55,646,400 (90%)
Administrative Expenses 2,198,300 (3.6%)
Fundraising Expenses 4,036,100 (6.5%)
Total Expenses $61,880,800

American Red Cross
Programs: 91%
Fund Raising: 3%
Administrative: 5%

CEC According to parent submission?
Administrative: $1,728,032 (59%)
Programs: $1,216,769 (41%)
Total Spending $2,944,801

He also had another comment on the subject of this forum that I liked:

It is hard to bring corruption to light. I think Justin Jeffery had been working for a while to air out issues with the handing over the Foutain Square Garage to the 3CDC. He wasn’t very successful either. I think it is important to air out corruption no matter where it comes up. So the question beggs, how has the impeach mallory blog been successful where so many others have failed? What can we learn from them? How can we apply their methods to other areas of corruption?

Here are my observations.
1. They are very passionate about the subject.
2. They created an issue specific blog that only deals with their subject. Thus a lower signal to noise issue.
3. There is more than one person working on the issue. Looks like a team of four working on the blog.
4. They have worked hard to establish a level of crediablity in what they say.
4.1 They back up their claims with indendent 3rd party sources, documents, pictures & video.
4.2 They freely admit what they cannot prove & ask for help.
5. They solicit help with proving their claims from the general internet community.
6. They don’t have an issue that conflicts with the interests of Main Stream Media.
7. They have people associated with their cause getting on TV & quoted in the news.
8. They do most of the reporters work for them.
9. They are clear, meticulous & thorough in proving their claims.
10. They don’t give up when they don’t get instant results.

I guess it doesn’t hurt that a whole community is upset, motivated & a high profile murder is thrown into the mix to make the whole subject attractive to reporters.

In honor of #5, soliciting help from the general net community, I am stealing his post and offering my thanks to FC.

Comparing the EZ Budget to those of other non profits is pretty damning evidence of what has been going on. I can't think of one good reason that they city wouldn't shut the thing down and clean the whole place out.

Those budget numbers are out of line, but they aren't criminal. The CEC could have been paying Cleveland $1 million bucks a year for all they want. If it was approved by the board and the City it is completely legal. That isn't to say the whole thing shouldn't be shut down. What a waste of tax funds at the expense of the poor.

Yeah, that was a wonderful post by Funnelcake. Guy knows his stuff. There's a lot to be learned from what he put out there. Too bad Monica didn't have what she called the "intellectual heft" to wrap her brain around what he was summarizing.

For a not-for-profit & what we've learned to date about those EZ folks, their budget is in sorry need of an overhaul. Folks need to be ashcanned over there & people appointed who have an idea of how to watch the bottom line & the runaway spending. They have done nothing but squander money & lots of it, when you compare it to Genesis.

That comparison that was done against the United Way & the Red Cross was absolutely absurd. I can't think of any other way to put it.

(BTW, itty bitty N8 has his panties all knotted up over the sex offenders business. Things must be slow over at the criminal law office now that the copier is gone. It's back & it's gone wild. According to him, David Pepper is fueling the Truth Squad efforts.)

Hang on. It's getting on a full moon & the crazies are restless.

Anon 7:54,
"Not criminal"? How would you know?
Anything that has D4S, Beatty, Garrett and Cleveland's prints on it must be suspact.
D4S got his CAMPAIGN MANAGER on the EZ dole!.
D4S worked on Queensgate voter registration while running for office. The EZ paid for this.
Old Man Mallory's center OUTSIDE the EZ gets 1/2 mill a year.
D4S appoints 3 board members without WECC approval (as required) and they give him an unsupervised joke gig to screw his neighbors.
The Genesis mob that "lost" $700,000 is now given a $27,000,000 bank to rob.
"Nothing illegal"???????
My bet is that the FBI will find pleanty illegal in this den of theives.

Can't be Winburn unless R's need to waste someone. Burke was using the fear of Winburn running against Kathy Barret and he felt a no winner in Kearney with a Wieland chaser would help the 3M cause. Winnie might be the poast replacement but it's probably going to be someone that will waste both the energy and time of the Joe Mallory think tank. Joe's the real manager for Dale not Phenicie and his consultant statusness. Just say BOO and danny boy wets himself. They try and not let him out.

Keep a look at who is being escorted around at the courthouse and that will give us the bead. Who ever's being intoduced to SI and Phills will probably be their boy.

Quick, somebody who knows how to do this go over to N8's blog and cache it before he edits it. He's making reference to killing Kabaka and his crazy woman.

"But that's not my style. (Allow me to point out that killing Kabaka didn't hurt Joy except that it limited her exposure to certain media venues. Joy never cared about Kabaka.) Joy suffers from bouts of clinical depression and has to fight off thoughts of suicide. Killing her would sort of take her out of her misery."

Anon 9:16, I did a back up on N8's little rant when I first saw it this morning. I believe the Howdy the Hitman case told us to monitor the Mafioso just like they're watching us. I'm certain I'm not the only one who's watching & capturing.

I'm convinced that by individuals getting intell over to Deters' office, that pretty much sewed up Howdy's case & got a sock stuffed in N8's mouth. Bench Trial=stuff to hide. Judge taking his time with the verdict=Felony One Murder. Outcome=25 years to life. Kenny ruined. N8 destroyed. Mallorys=wondering what to do next.

The numbers deserve a second look. You may have made a mistake, because no nonprofit that I know of runs percentages like that. I think this is a case of obvious inflation so that you can rouse your troops. Those numbers can't stand the light of day and you know it.

Frank,
The numbers are straight from City Hall and linked on this site.
As a Truth Squader, I have personally viewed over 50,000 EZ documents/invoices at the planning office downtown. several other Truth Squaders were there with me.
The volume of the overhead waste and the minimal EZ real output was disturbing.
These numbers reflect the sad truth that I saw in my June and July investigation of the raw data.

Dear 1:55am - those numbers came right off of a City report. It's sick, I know. The numbers are right.

Frank, those are real, whole numbers. That's the shocking part. How they managed to keep such bloated figures isn't a surprise. The City has failed again to put in place oversight & monitoring controls not only on this venture, but other not-for-profits.

In December, just days before the biennial budget is ratified, you'll see Council Chambers filled to the rafters with reps from these 501s & 502s begging, threatening & cajoling for their "fair" share of the pie. It's an annual event.

And there's no benchmark placement & monitoring in place to determine if your tax dollars are spent wisely & frugally. Not so surprising, our City leaders have failed to learn the lessons of Genesis, Pettus Brown, Schear & Schear & the woman who ripped off City payroll for years.

You see, that's how EZ got away with free flowing dollars. Having stuffed the Board with like-minded individuals further greased the skids.
