The real scandal of genesis was how the story was killed and swept under the rug. I suspect many of the same forces are still at City Hall, doing the exact same things for Dale Mallory and the Cincinnati Empowerment Corporation.

Gray claims city officials demoted her from acting director of OMI because she was investigating ties between city employees and the Genesis Redevelopment Corp.
Genesis was the target of an investigation because it received $700,000 in tax money but did not complete any significant housing development projects.

Gray said some city employees obstructed her work and shredded documents related to the case. She said she was demoted and ridiculed by her bosses after telling her story to council members.

Don't be surprised if the name Carlton Maddox comes up again. It would be interesting to see and read the case that she filed in court.

What I recall offhand, Kimberly Gray really got the shaft. It was done so quickly, people didn't have time to bat an eyelash. It was John Shirey who was, ah, appointed to do the bidding. After Shirey did as he was ordered, then he was put on the slippery slope.
You notice once Genesis was encased in lead containers & concrete vaults (think nuclear waste), up popped another criminal, LaShawn Pettus Brown.
The Truth Squad Special Forces, their team of stealth warriors, with the help & energy of Karma, will right the wrongs. The power will be with us!
BTW, when the next EZ meeting is known, will someone put it out here? I think we need to have a presence, seeing Cleveland moved his lips at Laketa Cole's meeting that he'd show the papers & answer any question on anyone's mind. And hopefully, that little magpie runt will tell us where Dale is holding his annexation meetings. However, I think that's all a big hoax. Stumpy is just blowing his horn to prove he's got cajones like real men. Yeah, right.
Getting those court documents is a great idea to shed more light on the story. I presume she names names, and it would be interesting to see who it is. Get those document up on this blog!

Last month we were on TV when Asst Chief Whelan said Dale's theft has been forwarded to FBI for criminal investigation.
This meeting was on Channel 12 news and links provided.
The one and only Dale meeting was in march at the Y. It was snowed out while Killin/Colberts meeting had 50 attendees.
Clarification - some of you may know this, but Cheryl Meadows is no longer with Community Development & I believe she retired from the city. She's still floating around.
Meadows & Peg Moertl, formerly with the City, too, wound up in some deep muck over shady deals.
I'll put my thinking cap on for names during the Genesis era. Might have to do some digging around in my archives.
But take heed to what westender100 has said. It's the truth, once again.
Anon 9:12, I've been warmly welcomed at one of your meetings recently. I will certainly vouch for WECC's efforts in providing complete transparency & conducting meetings right to the letter of the Rules of Order. You folks went the distance to ensure everything, every shred of paper, info, etc., was legal & in perfect order. And I would testify to that.
Maddox used to work government development loans into properties he owned through shells that couldn't be traced back to him. He used to control around 30 properties that way. You should see that guys pad. Not bad for a city crat. He was helping himself to some development dollars along the way.
For decades a small group of politically connected people have controlled the funds for inner city development. They eat first at the table, and the rest of us were lucky to get a scrap. It is in their best interests to see that communities don't turn the corner, because they can always point to the blight and ask for more developmental funds.
Genesis went all the way up to City Council. They had people on council insert things into the budget and pressure administrators to disburse funds and destroy documents. Genesis also had plenty of moles and worker bees within the City Hall rank and file. They still do.
No coincidence that many of the same people in Genesis are involved with the Empowerment Zone. They still have connections to City Hall. They even have the Mayor now. You think it is any surprise that Dale Mallory is not being investigated? We had copies of checks back in the Genesis days too. Checks made out to family, friends, and community council members. People were ordered to shut up, documents were destroyed and suddenly it all went away.
They walked on all of that (and we had a better case than you guys have now). We didn't even slow them down. The Empowerment Zone came along and that was a promotion for them. Genesis was small potatoes compared to HUD's millions. The cycle never ends. A closely nit and politically connected den of thieves makes it their business to control public money. They have connections with City Hall, the CPD and organized crime. And if you get in their way you pay. You people aren't the first to get vandalized or threatened and you won't be the last. You should save yourselves while you can.
Don’t want to burst your bubble, because reading this web site brings back old memories. But all your efforts are going to amount to squat. I have been there. You can’t touch these people. You might consider doing what I did: MOVE. Move out of the city and never look back. Give it some time and think about it. Is it worth being threatened or watching your tax dollars go to waste? Do you ever think anything positive is going to happen as long as these people control development dollars? You aren’t going to win. You never had a chance.
While I can completely understand your position on the Poverty Pimp Cabal being seemingly "untouchable"...Uncle Sam doesn't take too kindly to federal funds being jacked in this way. I believe that it is more than time for them ALL to get what's coming to them and I'll even go so far as to say that JB will be the one who falls on the sword. He's at the CENTER of the corruption, no doubt.
Check out JB's connections with Parktown Cafe, city officials (Minette Cooper and Dwight Tillery) in place at the time of the Genesis fiasco, and the BRIBERY CHARGES with the Cincinnati Police in the 90's. That will tell you A LOT about how he and his minions have operated in the past.
If Maddox was getting development funds, he didn't have to go far. Antoinette Selvey-Maddox is his wife. She was Director of the Department of Economic Development.

With all due respect, by your own admission, you moved away and are not directly involved now. How can you possibly know how strong today's case is?
If you really know your Genesis stuff, give your info to the FBI. If you want to talk to Truth Squaders....they will be at all REAL WECC meetings the 3rd Tues @ Lincoln center.
I do know that there is a mountain of incriminating evidence against Dale and JB and a number of their cronies.
I do know that the FBI has started their interviewing and data gathering process.
The evolution and outcome of this case is not predetermined. For ANYONE to claim knowledge of the future path of this case is just pure speculation.
Yes Genesis was a rotten mess.....but guess what? the whistleblower will finally get her day in court.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but there isn't an August meeting scheduled. The next one is September. That was the last report I got.
The heat is on Cleveland & his associates that they decided to have a little break in the action. What it tells me is that it gives 'em time to cook the books further.
You know, Cleveland & his big mama mouthpiece came to Laketa Cole's meeting somewhat unprepared. Miss Cole & other Council people asked for specific documentation on the spot & neither one of them could produce it or give facts & figures up off the top.
In some instances, Cleveland stated he'd get the stuff to her the next day & other stuff he hedged on. All of this makes me very suspicious.
It's the Genesis game all over again.

Unfortunately, you can't connect to the U.S. District Court for free & all that business. Someone will have to traipse over there to inquire about documents, etc.

Anon 2:03AM, are you employed in Hamilton County? the City? If you are, they're reaming you. Regardless, you pay federal taxes, a portion of which gets funnelled into HUD & other free benefits programs for career freeloaders, so you're getting the green weenie whether you move or not.
This business with Dale & his EZ lovers won't go away. I remember the Genesis jazz & that will get dredged up again, regardless of the missing documents. There's enough quotes & admissions out there to support criminal wrongdoing.
The best thing the Truth Squad team has going is a bunch of dedicated residents, firm believers in the No! to CityLink, people in other communities who are committed to help these folks end the wholesale theft of social service dollars & others. The research is being done by all these people.
We've learned a great lesson from the big deals of the day - Genesis, Pettus Brown, etc., & we're going to hold hands & feet to the fire for as long as it takes.
Moving out is easy. Standing up & shredding the myth that "you can't fight City Hall" takes courage, guts & doing one's homework. It's the right thing to do.

CEC's next board meeting (public, anyway) will be on September 11th @ 5:30. I think they're meeting on Court Street. They stopped having meetings during August a year or two ago due to "vacation." I don't know how you'd know need a vacation when you don't do any work the other 11 months of the year, but hey...

Let's see....JB's wife has been charged with NON-PAYMENT of CITY TAXES, his brother awaits sentencing for MURDER, Jailbird Dale is now named "a person of interest" in more racketeering accusations, and Cleveland the Bootleg CEO is ducking and dodging all kinds of shit with his new fat mouthpiece. I'm sure, given time, more info will spill forth on the other Poverty Pimps as well....yeah...maybe they DO need a "vacation." I'm thinking 10-20 in a federal cell should be plenty of time to "get away"..."clear" their heads and "mull" a couple of things over.......
When Dale ran for the presidency of the WECC in 2001 he neglected to inform the community that he was the Executive Director of Genesis. Why is this important ... In 2001 the community was attempting to rid itself of the scum associated with Genesis in order to have the City restore it's funding which had been suspended due to the scandal. The community trusted Dale simply because he was a Mallory and for no other reason. They had no clue of the scum that he was or his associations ... it was well after the fact that his true nature was exposed ... not unlike how he neglected to inform the community of his relationship with the CEC/EZ and CityLink.

Other factoids relating to scum sucking Dale.
Dale was to term limit out in June 2005. In December 2004, Junebug announces that the "true" WECC bylaws were "discovered". An examination of the Junebug by-laws had only one change....NO TERM LIMIT....there was no ammending of the by-laws....just Junebug proclaiming he found the "true" bylaws.
As Dale and Stumpboy huff and puff and try to deny Dale's impeachment....it's well to remember that Dale papered over this obvious illegal rules change to keep his butt in office. Dale LOVES his emoluments.
Anon 9:52, Dale Mallory, after becoming Prez of the WECC after the throes of the Genesis debacle stated he was going to clean things up. One of his first orders of business was getting rid of Genesis. What did he do? Eliminated his drug dealing competition by swinging the sledgehammer to launch the destruction of the Tot Lot, where the Posse gave Dale a run for his money.
We posted that news item sometime ago. I believe I asked Blanchard to hold it in a safe place. Really had to go digging for it, because when you Google Dale, EVERYTHING swings back to this world famous blog spot, & rightly so. I'll go look it up & thread it back here. (That would make Dale's day if someone, other than Tina Turner-wannabe Esther, googled him, but this is a family-friendly spot & we're going to leave it alone.)
